What better way to spend a Saturday than visiting some galleries in York.
I had been planning this trip for a while and even the freezing cold weather couldn’t put me off. Bils & Rye, one of the galleries that I stock, were having a launch of their gallery which opened at the beginning of the month. Based in Nunnington they’re a couple of hours drive away so I decided to make a day of it and have a look around the city too.
I took my mum for company and we dragged my dad reluctantly. We had a look around the Pyramid Gallery in the centre of York. It was their Spring exhibition launch with work from Richard Baxter, Jennifer Lowe, Jonathan Newdick & JJ Vincent. The gallery was very busy and in a fantastic location on the main shopping street in York. I’ve added a few photos of Philip Hearseys work below:
After that we went for afternoon tea at Mulberry Hall, I couldn’t recommend it enough!
On to way to Nunnington we stopped off at Saltbox Gallery, I have heard a lot about them and have wanted to visit for a while. They had some lovely work in, I’ve seen a few of the artists work before and my favourites are shown below.
And we finished the day off by visiting Bils & Rye. Nick & Kate opened the gallery at the beginning of the month and contacted me to stock some work. They have a real passion for art and design and are so supportive of their makers. I’m honoured to have my work on sale there.
